Lottie D is a 57' cruiser stern narrow boat named after our daughter Charlotte. With us both finally retired it's time to record our life on the canal network.

The morning after

We were supposed to be moving on today but our exertions (?) at last night's Man of Steel awards dinner left us somewhat lethargic.
So we've had an incredibly lazy day today, watching the bridge at Plank Lane being repaired.
Here it is, propped up with the hydraulic rams removed. The workmen were concerned that, after 20 years, they wouldn't be able to remove the hinge pins and had brought along a thermic lance just in case! I would have loved to see one of those in action but it was not to be. Perhaps, with the rams removed on the first day the bridge may be working sooner than anticipated. To be selfish about it, we are enjoying the peace and quiet!
Tomorrow, we WILL be moving on - probably 😉
