Here is the reason for all that twig gathering.

This wonderful invention is a Kelly Kettle. The twin walled kettle sits on a base with a hole in the side. Light a small fire in the base then place the filled kettle on top. Top up the fire through the hole in the middle of the kettle and the chimney effect (air in through the hole in the base, out through the hole in the kettle) gives you a strong fire that boils 1.6 litres in about 3 minutes.

Yes, it's a shopping trolley but don't laugh at us just yet! This is a stylish piece of kit from Rolser, a Spanish company and has a maximum load of 40kg. After lugging all that shopping in Stockton Heath recently we decided it would be a wise investment. I have a trolley for wood, coal and gas bottles, why struggle with heavy shopping bags?

Speaking of my coal trolley we have been straight to a supplier in Astley to stock up. What cost us £9.50 per bag at Thorn Marine in Stockton Heath we just got for £7.40. I do love a good bargain!
