Waverton

Having met friends Wayne and Emma here yesterday we decided to stay put and get some jobs done today, so greasing, painting and varnishing were the order of the day.
It is a lovely spot but so shallow! We took four attempts to tie up, moving forward a little each time until we could get to the canal bank.
Having walked to the Black Dog yesterday with Emma (we met Wayne there) we went in the opposite direction today after getting the jobs done. Crossing the A41 yesterday was like crossing the M6!
The canal was beautiful as we walked towards Chester, as was the weather.
First stop was the Cheshire Cat.
We had intended to bring the boat down here but were glad to have stayed at Waverton which is much quieter. Still, it was nice to chill outside in the sunshine. We next crossed the canal and headed back via a quiet lane, farmers' fields and a muddy path on the opposite side of the canal before emerging on Brown Heath Lane.
Decision time. Turn right and head back or turn left and head to the Plough?
No brainer!
