On the Llangollen

We made the short trip from Barbridge onto the Llangollen Canal at Hurlston this morning, climbing the four locks that make up the flight
then using the services for Elsan emptying and water filling
before tying up beyond the road bridge in the picture to await the arrival of Logan and Wilson for another two night stopover.
The boat traffic is pretty constant now and such a shock to us both. We are actually thinking we may prefer the tranquility and solitude of winter to this. After staying at Waverton Friday and Saturday we next stopped at the Shady Oak pub again on the Sunday but the good weather had certainly wrought some changes.

There was a marked increase in boat numbers - and a long queue to get served at the pub to boot. So long that we gave up and went back to sit on the towpath. We never have this problem in December!
Our nearest neighbour has actually given up on the Llangollen and turned around at Wrenbury, such was the amount of boat traffic. I think our plan will be to stop and shop where we can then head out into the sticks away from the expected tourist stops. Then, once we are alone, it will be time to get smoking!
What's the treatment for Botulism?
