We returned to the marina as planned and have sorted out what we are doing over the winter. The trip down is one we have made many times but that doesn't mean you non boaters have seen the sights, so here's a few pics :-

Spot the plum! |
There is a spot along the canal with 4 or 5 plum trees. In years gone by we have seen them laden with fruit but the last couple of years have been quite barren. This year, however, there is at least one plum showing signs of promise!
With Logan and I doing a little male bonding whilst in Burscough I took him to look down the Rufford Branch at Lathom. This is the sight we saw a few locks down :-
There has been a breach caused by a collapsed culvert which had left two boats stranded, one of which can be seen in the distance. Fortunately, at the time of writing C&RT had managed to get them both afloat, though the arm will be closed until the end of August apparently. Who says boating is stress free?
